When the NFL playoffs begin this upcoming Saturday night, the Alabama Crimson Tide will certainly not be lacking for representation during the professional football postseason.

A program that certainly has an argument to be made as “NFLU,” Alabama’s number of players currently in the NFL is an impressive one, and even despite the league’s teams that are remaining playing was cut in half before the playoffs, the Crimson Tide still have a lengthy list of former stars who will take the field in the coming weeks.

So, before the games begin this Saturday, let’s take a complete look at every former Alabama player who will play in the NFL playoffs this season, as well as what each has done up to this point in the year.

NOTE: In addition to the names mentioned below, Alabama also has many former players who will not play during the NFL playoffs due to either being injured, or are currently on one of the team’s practice squads. Those names are as follows:

Anthony Averett (Houston Texans), Eddie Jackson (Los Angeles Chargers), Darrian Dalcourt (Baltimore Ravens), Jalyn Armour-Davis (Baltimore Ravens), Kareem Jackson (Buffalo Bills), Byron Young (Philadelphia Eagles)

A team led by former Alabama linebacker Demeco Ryans as head coach, the AFC’s No. 4 seeded Houston Texans have multiple Crimson Tide players suiting up for the NFL playoffs, starting with a wide receiver in John Metchie III. In the midst of a career-year, Metchie has hauled in 24 receptions for 254 yards and a touchdown across 13 games so far this season, three of which he has started.

Irv Smith Jr., Tight End – Houston Texans

Former tight end Irv Smith Jr. is currently in his first season with the Houston Texans organization, but has not amassed any stats so far across five games played this year, one of which he started. That could however change in the playoffs for the veteran.

Will Anderson Jr., Defensive End – Houston Texans

One of the most productive former Alabama players in the NFL this season has been defensive end Will Anderson Jr., who has taken yet another step in year two with the Houston Texans after taking home NFL Defensive Rookie of the Honors last season. Across 14 games, all of which he has been a starter, Anderson has amassed 37 tackles, 16 TFL, and 11 sacks.

Christian Harris, Linebacker – Houston Texans

Currently in his third season with the Texans, former Alabama linebacker Christian Harris has only appeared in three games so far this season. Over those three games, each of which he has been a starter, Harris has amassed a combined 20 tackles, one TFL, and one sack.

Henry To’oTo’o, Linebacker – Houston Texans

Another former Alabama linebacker currently playing for the Texans is Henry To’oTo’o, who is in the midst of a career-year in Houston. Across 15 games starting on Houston’s defense, To’oTo’o has a career-high 105 tackles with seven TFL and 1.5 sacks so far this season.

Bradley Bozeman, Center – Los Angeles Chargers

A veteran punter, JK Scott is currently having one of the better seasons of his NFL career, which is also his third with the Los Angeles Chargers. For the season, Scott has punted the ball a total of 72 times for 3,362 yards altogether, and currently boasts a career-high 46.7 average yards per punt.

Derrick Henry, Running Back – Baltimore Ravens

The AFC’s No. 3 seeded Baltimore Ravens have a few former Alabama players taking the field in the playoffs, with undoubtedly the biggest being running back Derrick Henry. In his first season with the Ravens, Henry has made yet another Pro Bowl by rushing for 1,921 yards and a NFL-leading 16 touchdowns, while also having added two more through the receiving game.

Marlon Humphrey, Cornerback – Baltimore Ravens

The aforementioned Henry is not the lone Pro Bowl selection from Alabama on the Ravens in 2024, as the same can be said for cornerback Marlon Humphrey. Across 16 games, each of which he has started, Humphrey has posted a combined stat line of 67 tackles, five TFL, 0.5 sacks, a career-high six interceptions, 15 PD, and two forced fumbles.

Facing off against Baltimore is the AFC’s No. 6 seeded Pittsburgh Steelers, who are led offensively by former Alabama running back Najee Harris. Across 17 games this season, Harris has rushed for 1,043 yards and six touchdowns on 263 attempts.

Minkah Fitzpatrick, Safety – Pittsburgh Steelers

The AFC’s No. 7 seeded Denver Broncos have one former Alabama player suiting up for the NFL playoffs in star cornerback Pat Surtain II. Jahmyr Gibbs, Running Back – Detroit Lions

Shifting to the NFC, that conference’s No. 1 seed, the Detroit Lions, have multiple former Alabama players set to take the field, with the biggest likely being running back Jahmyr Gibbs. The former Alabama running back made his second Pro Bowl this season by rushing for 1,412 yards and a NFL leading 16 touchdowns on 250 attempts, while also hauling in 52 receptions for 517 yards and four more scores.

Jameson Williams, Wide Receiver – Detroit Lions

Former Alabama wide receiver Jameson Williams is enjoying a breakout season with the Detroit Lions in his third year with the organization.
