With the 2024 college football season having now officially come to an end, the final AP Poll Top 25 was released Tuesday morning, which included the Alabama Crimson Tide’s final spot to end the year.
Alabama was ranked as the No. 17 team in the final AP Poll, which was the lowest the Crimson Tide have been to end a season since 2007, a year when the program finished unranked after a 7-6 year one under Nick Saban. This ranking of No. 17 dropped Alabama a total of six spots from the previous update.
In 2024, Alabama finished the season with a 9-4 overall record, which was the program’s worst year since that 2007 campaign. Year one of the Kalen DeBoer era, Alabama also finished with a 5-3 record in SEC play, which was the worst since the same mark in 2010.
Of Alabama’s four losses, three came in the regular season in road games against Vanderbilt, Tennessee, and Oklahoma, two of which the Crimson Tide were big favorites. Alabama also fell in the ReliaQuest Bowl to end the season against Michigan, 19-13.
