On Aug. 30, 2025, the Alabama Crimson Tide will travel to open the college football season, facing the Florida State Seminoles in Tallahassee, Florida.
Now yes, that game is still numerous months away, and as you know, a lot can, and probably will, change in between now-and-then. However, is there already a current hypothetical favorite when looking ahead at that matchup?
Well, a hypothetical early line is already out for that Week 1 showdown, and according to FanDuel, Alabama is currently a 7.5-point favorite against the Seminoles as of Tuesday, Jan. 21. The money line is also Alabama (-285), Florida State (+230), while the over/under is currently at 51.5.
Next season’s opener in Tallahassee will feature two teams who are coming off down years in their own right. Alabama went 9-4 overall in year one of the Kalen DeBoer era, while Florida State had one of their worst seasons in program history, going 2-10.
Yes, the line will obviously change between now-and-then, but it appears that Alabama will be the favorite looking ahead at Week 1 of next season.
