The Philadelphia Eagles have already won a Superbowl with the strategy of drafting players from Alabama and Georgia, so when Jihaad Campbell surprisingly dropped to the end of the 1st round, the Eagles made a quick trade up to select him.

Once a 5-star prospect as an edge rusher, Campbell bided his time as a true freshman behind Will Anderson and Dallas Turner before making the move to learn to play as an off-ball linebacker. It wound up being the right move for the explosive athlete, as he worked his way into the rotation as a sophomore before turning into an absolute force in 2024 as a full time starter, racking up 117 tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, and 5 sacks in an All-SEC campaign.

He then showed out at the NFL Combine, running an impressive 4.52 forty yard dash and a 10’7” broad jump.

Campbell’s speed, playmaking, and versatility to play the run, rush the passer, or drop into coverage make him the ultimate modern NFL linebacker.

The Eagles are about as stacked of a team as you can build in the NFL, so Campbell’s “moveable weapon” is just a cherry on top and a luxury pick for an already great team.

Roll Tide, Jihaad!
