Tyler Booker didn’t have to wait long to hear his name called in the 2025 NFL Draft, as the Dallas Cowboys took him at 12th overall.

Booker made an early impact as a freshman a few seasons ago, as he supplanted an older, entrenched starter at left guard over the course of his first year, and he never looked back. After becoming the full-time starter in 2023 and excelling, Booker became one of the top guards in the country and a team captain for Alabama. He parlayed that into an All-American selection in 2024 and an early exit for the NFL.

With the offensive line becoming something of a premium commodity for most NFL teams, Booker is going to be looked at as an immediate starter.

The Dallas Cowboys’ coach, Brian Schottenheimer, runs the perfect scheme for Booker as an inside zone offense focused on downfield play action passing concepts. There really aren’t many better fits for him, and that tracks with him getting drafted a little earlier than many expected.

Roll Tide!
