Syndication: Arizona Republic Millard South Jett Thomalla (4) looks for receivers against Basha during a game at Basha High School in Chandler on Aug. 30, 2024.

NFL wide receivers, Brandin Cooks and Rashid Shaheed were able to catch footballs from Alabama’s four-star quarterback commit Jett Thomalla before a football camp over the weekend.

The talented wide receivers had high praise for Thomalla after the throwing session.

“He throwing missiles,” Cooks told Matt Sottile of KETV NewsWatch 7 in Oklahoma. “He letting it come out his hand, big guy. I mean, there’s no surprise on why he’s going to Bama, one great school. And I think he’s going to be great the way that he’s come out here slinging that ball.”

Shaheed had similar praise for the four-star quarterback.

“He came in and he was slinging it,” Shaheed said. “He’s super talented. I see why he’s ranked as high as he is and committed to Alabama, which is one of the top programs in the country. I can see why he’s had success throughout the high school level, and I expect him to continue the same throughout college.”

Thomalla’s confidence also impressed the pair of wideouts.

“He was actually so impressive that we didn’t even need to,” said Shaheed when asked what pointers they gave Thomalla during the session. “We didn’t even have to do that. But he was super confident. You could see that. He was excited to be out there with us and just come out here and just have a good time and compete.”

The Alabama quarterback commit will look to put together another impressive season as a senior in 2025.
