Ryan Grubb has felt a high sense of urgency around the  Alabama football program since he first accepted the role of being the Crimson Tide’s offensive coordinator.

This feeling stems from the disappointment Alabama football felt from top to bottom last season after failing to reach the College Football Playoff or collect a win in a bowl game. Nearly nine months later, this sentiment is a theme that’s been infused into the minds of all Crimson Tide players and coaches.

Grubb detailed the urgency he has seen on Thursday while talking to reporters.

“I’ll be honest, it’s one of those things that’s impressed me since I got here,” Grubb said. “I feel like the sense of urgency probably was sparked a little as a result of last year’s record, things like that, but I feel like the sense of urgency since I got here has been really, really high. And the right players are speaking up, saying the right things, and not just talk about it, but enact some of those things and follow through with it.”

One player that’s been a constant voice echoing this message to his Alabama teammates since last season and all this offseason is junior offensive lineman, Parker Brailsford.

“There’s urgency, but there’s been urgency since January and last year,” Brailsford told reporters after practice on Thursday. “I mean, obviously, we didn’t like how it went last year. There’s been urgency the whole year. It hasn’t dropped off. We’ve been consistent with it. That’s one thing we’ve been pushing towards.”

Alabama football looks to continue to build upon their urgent mindset all fall camp long.
