Alabama football’s linebacker, Deontae Lawson is back on the field for the Crimson Tide, leading their inside linebacker room after suffering a season-ending injury during the 2024 season.

The injury played a significant role in Lawson deciding to return to Alabama for another year after many expected him to move on to the NFL after last season. The Mobile, Alabama native made his return to practice on the first day of fall camp last week. Lawson gave an update on how he feels after four practices at the Crimson Tide’s Media Day.

“I feel great,” Lawson said. “I’m just super blessed, just to know I haven’t been in pads and moving around with the team since November. That’s all I can think about, how it feels, just being out there. I’m not really thinking too much about anything, just having fun with the guys. I feel good. No doubt.”

Lawson is expected to lead the Crimson Tide’s inside linebacker room throughout the 2025 season.
