It has been one of the most fun seasons of college football in recent memory with several upsets on a weekly basis. With just four weeks left in the regular season, I have no clue who is going win the first-ever 12-team Championship.

In years past, the Alabama Crimson Tide would have been eliminated with two losses, but with the expanded field, they still control their destiny. With road trips against LSU and Oklahoma looming shortly, winning out is much easier said than done. Fortunately for the Tide, they are coming off their best performance of the season in a 34-0 shutout victory against Missouri before they enjoyed a Week 10 bye.

BetMGM also believes Tide’s Playoff hopes are very much alive as they give Alabama top ten odds to bring home this year’s national title (Ties are listed in alphabetical order):

Not many people would have predicted this in the preseason, but the Indiana Hoosiers are in the thick of the Playoff hunt. At 9-0, they are just two wins away from likely securing a Playoff spot, but have two massive games coming up against Michigan and at Ohio State. It will be fun to see if they can secure Big Ten title shot in a de factor home game in Indianapolis.

With two losses on their resume already, the Rebels Playoff hopes are hanging on by a thread. However, a win against Georgia in a few weeks would get them right back into the conversation for an at-large big. Ole Miss is coming off their best win of the season as they trounced Arkansas 63-31.

After an early season loss to Northern Illinois, the Fighting Irish have been able to slide under the radar. Notre Dame plays both Florida State and USC who are struggling mightily, so their toughest remaining game may end up being Army. Even if they drop another game, I think Notre Dame is in a decent spot for the final twelve.

The Nittany Lions came up just short against Ohio State on Saturday as James Franklin’s struggle against top-five teams continues. With just one loss, they are in a great spot for the final 12, but I don’t see them making a run in December. However, they may get another crack at the Buckeyes in the Big Ten title if a few things shake out in their favor.

The Tennessee defense is the real deal as they are still yet to allow an opponent to score 20 points in a game this season. The Vols still have road trips to Georgia and Vanderbilt remaining on the schedule, but with just one loss they can probably afford to drop another and still sneak in. Especially with a win against Alabama already on their resume.

The Crimson Tide’s season comes down to this Saturday at LSU. They can not afford another loss with two already on their resume, but Brian Kelly is undefeated in night games while at LSU. It will take the Tide’s best all-around performance this weekend to keep their postseason hopes alive. Fortunately, they have fared quite well in Baton Rouge recent trips.

At 9-0 and with no remaining ranked opponents, the Hurricanes have locked up their Playoff spot. Their biggest question is who they’ll take on in the ACC Championship to earn the conference’s automatic bid. QB Cam Ward is currently atop the Heisman Trophy standings as it feels like old times in Coral Gables.

Everyone has gone quiet on Texas since their loss to Georgia, but the fact of the matter is there is no shame in losing to the Bulldogs. The Longhorns remaining schedule is rather manageable outside of a trip to Kyle Field on the last weekend of the season. QB Quinn Ewers still has some things to clean up, but there is nobody better for that than head coach Steve Sarkisian.

The Ducks are one of two remaining undefeated in the Big Ten, but with a win over Ohio State, they feel a little more legit than Indiana. Oregon will likely finish the regular season undefeated and take on Ohio State in a rematch for the top seed in the College Football Playoff.

The Bulldogs look much more beatable than years past, with QB Carson Beck struggling mightily, but Georgia will be in the final 12. They narrowly survived an upset bid from Florida over the weekend, but we can’t punish teams for winning this late in the season. At this point it kind of feels like we are waiting to see who gets a crack at Georgia in the SEC title.

Ohio State’s only loss came in a one-score game on the road against a top-five team and still boasts the best roster in the sport. Ryan Day and the Buckeyes picked up a huge top five win against Penn State over the weekend and will have a chance at another top ten win against Indiana in a few weeks.
