The two schools will meeting for the 73rd time in the both programs’ 99-year football history. Charles Henderson holds a slim 37-34-1 advantage in the series which has been so close through the years that only 21 points separate the two (1,221 for Greenville and 1,200 for Charles Henderson) in the series heading into Class 5A, Region 2 opener.

Earley announced the contest will also be shown by Troy Cable on its channel 10.
The Trojans of Coach Brad McCoy are 0-1 this season with a 27-13 loss to Catholic last week. Greenville (1-1), coached by Josh McLendon, opened the season with a 15- 0 win over Hillcrest-Evergreen but forfeited last week’s road game at Blount.  The Tigers won last year’s game 21-10 and the 2018 contest 42-17.
This is always an important game for both schools,” McLendon said. “Charles Henderson has a good team with good players. They do many of the same things offensively that we do. They are the closest opponent travel-wise we play on our schedule. Coach McCoy’s team always plays hard. They are a lot like us.”
